brake bleeding/proportioning valve question...

Hey Guys,

I recently had a rear wheel cylinder go bad on my '72 LWB, so I replaced the wheel cylinder and put a new brake line on as well. And I was having trouble getting my brake light to go out.

So, of course, I started looking for answers on here...and I found them (you guys are awesome!). But, I want to be sure that I have it right before I go out and lay in snow to fix it this weekend.

To get the light out, I should open the front bleeders and pump the pedal 3-4 times and the proportioning valve should go out...and if that doesn't work (and it didn't last weekend), I should try a quick 'kick' to the pedal. Is that right?

And then, I should push in the button on the proportioning valve and let all 4 bleeders gravity bleed for a bit, without touching the pedal. Does that sound right?

And just fyi, when I would pump the pedal last weekend, the brake light to go off as I pushed the pedal down, and come back on as I let off.

Thank for any input, guys!

Chris
