A question for a drag truck guru

Hey guys,
I've got a 68' Gmc long bed, I've got a 5.3 bored to a 5.7 with around 400hp, it's Hooked up to a 700r4 with a stage 2 shift kit and stock torque converter. It has leaf springs in the back, and I'd really like for it to transfer the weight and hook up pretty good when I floor it. The rear end is stock, and it does have a 2 piece driveshaft. I plan on changing the rear end to a 3:55 locker (I think the rear end stock is 3:08?). My main question is, what could I do to the suspension to make my goal? Preferably a lower cost range.
If there's other suggestions you have that don't include the suspension (that won't destroy my mpg too bad!) let me know! Always open to ideas. Thanks guys.
