Front shocks on a lowered '84

I recently lowered the front end of my truck with drop springs. I bought special shocks for that amount of drop. After a week or so I noticed the truck wasn't riding well and was bouncing too much. I switched out the front shocks with new stock shocks and the truck rides a whole lot better. But at the top of the shock it does not sit correctly on the top stud. The top of the shock sits at an angle on the stud rather than being level with the stud. Is this normal for a dropped truck? What can I do to fix this problem? I will try to post a pic later on.
