Pics of my latest project 1986 GMC Wrangler
I found an all original non molested 1986 GMC Wrangler with all the options and 65,000 original miles on it. It has some surface rust which is normal in my part of North America but the rockers and cab corners are pretty solid. I am going to bring it back to complete original condition and use it for a weekend driver.
Since these pics I have already detailed under hood, replaced all fluids, hoses, plugs, wires, filters, ect. The interior was fairly mint but I have replaced the carpet, added door carpet and kick panel carpet, replaced the cracked dash pad, and am researching how to get the original am/fm digital tuned cassette back in it but I think I am probably best going to the junk yard to find a harness - need the one that plugs into the back of the original stereo. I will have it repainted a slightly lighter blue and add metallic, and then from the marker lights down I will stick with taupe but it will be metallic instead of flat. I just returned from Montana border where I picked up all the restoration parts which I ordered from LMC. I really like the 81-87 body style and they ride very well and the cab is quiet. I usually specialize in older restorations - 67-72 in particular. |
