Control arm clearance

Hi guys I have a question. I have a 65 gmc 1/2 ton, and I put a 3 inch drop spindle on the front. I mounted my 15x8 steel factory rally wheels and they seem to just rub the front tip of the lower control arm. Has anyone had this issue? What should I try? Wheel spacers? How about shaving the lip on the lca...will that weaken it?
