Multiple Question Time...... I can find a truck now.
I have agreed a selling price for my van today,
Cheque will be in the mail this week. So van sold subject to the usual, and will be collected 1st May (yes, there is a reason for it ) I will add other trucks to this thread with the info I can get on them, and hopefully you guys can help me narrow it down to the right truck to buy. I am off to South Africa on Wednesday morning 02.00 for a ride....... details in this thread. http://www.wilddog.za.net/forum/inde...topic=106063.0 I have now started sticking my feelers out locally in the UK, and will start looking at CL and Ebay USA. Of course I am leaving for a 4500km motor bike trip on Wednesday, so cannot really do much buying etc. I have just spoken to the owner of a 65 LWB Fleetside with original 3 speed and 210 cubic inch 6 cylinder engine. Truck has rust and has been resprayed. The price in UK terms is what would be called reasonable at £5000 which is about $7600 BEFORE YOU GET HAPPY..... remember there is about $3800 actually involved in importing, shipping and customs etc costs to bring a truck to the UK, so a USA truck has to still be landed at a price that makes sense for a Brit to be interested. My question is around the engine and gearbox combo, and what they will be like towing a Teardrop caravan, Please give me opinions and views on this truck. It is only a start..... Here is my intro thread to give an idea of who I am and what I am looking for. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=557037 In summary it is a 60-66 model, in Short Fleetside form. The more chrome the better.
