Starter Solenoid wiring for coil
Its been quite a few years since I remember doing this but I know the stock type starters on these trucks have two small terminals on the starter solenoid, with one for cranking and the other for powering the coli if I remember? I think it had to do with allowing the coil to see 12 volts during cranking? Anyways I am now replacing a 1970 307 with gm crate motor. The crate motor has a larger diameter flex plate which meant the stock starter wont fit anymore. I cant swap flex plates because the bolt pattern diameter is different between the old motor and the new later model one. So I bought one of the high torque starters for it but it only has the one typical terminal for cranking> What should I do with the extra wire so everything will still work?
