Kids Mustang

In 1988 I restored a 67 Mustang Coupe with my teenage daughter. It was 200-6 with 3 speed. 4 years later she sold it to her sister after her first kid was born and they needed a more practical car. She always regretted it.

One of my clients is a big Mustang guy. A few years ago he started thinning the herd when he figured out he would not be able to complete all the projects he had and decided to focus on his Convertible. He knew about my daughters regrets and offered her one of the cars but she was in the middle of a divorce, starting back to school, etc. She graduated from school in January and her bucket list gift was another Mustang. I mentioned it to my client and he said I have the car for her. Here is what we closed the deal on tonight.

Jen is the third owner, my client got it 12 years ago from the original owner. He ordered it as a 289 4V, C4, unknown rear end at this time, with Luxury trim, factory air, radio, Silver Blue with white leather(?) buckets and console. I only found rust in two small places, at the bottom of the doors. Never wrecked, all the trim is there, original hubcaps. It currently has a 72 302 in it but comes with the original 289 with rebuild kit, it spun a bearing when the oil got diluted when the carb flooded out. My client painted it Guardian Blue, but it has faded and will need taken back to metal. Interior just needs cleaned and headliner reattached at the back window. We plan on building the 289 with a mild cam but keeping everything else stock. AC will be converted to 134. I forgot to check the mileage, but from everything else I am guessing less than 100K, the original owner just drove it around town, no long road trips.

Got it for a fair price, could easily flip it on Ebay to someone out east or up north wanting an original rust free A engine code car. But she said on the way home that she let her then husband talk her into selling the first one, and this one will never leave.
