Chevy vs Gmc cabs?

I found a 66 chevy cab a buddy of mine has that is in way better shape as far as rust then mine is/was when I pur my 64 Gmc together. Mine had a big hole above the windshield I patched in with other pieces of metal when I did the rust repair. And ofcorse rocker inner and outers. And big holes in the floor.

Now he has a damn good floor only hole I seen 3 holes in a area about the size of my hand. The rockers are good but dented' and, there is nothing else wrong with the 66 chevy cab just a few small dents. Now the engine caught fire and burnt the wires and melted the dash cluster and other plastics on the dash. The truck also has rust free inner wheel wells. Now I can get the cab and anything else I want off of it for under $300.

So I guess my question is what if any other then the dash and the hump in the floor ( mine has the high hump his has the low hump but look pretty flat to me) would be differant? Are the holes for the heater the same? Both have the deluxe heaters.

My thoughts are to take that chevy cab and remove the dash and put my gmc dash in it and put it on my frame and have a good clean cab with little to no patches and no filler above the windshield. And while I'm at it I think I'm going to go ahead and paint the truck instead of runing in primer like I have for the last few years.

Any thoughts or what you would do would help thanks guys.
