Just wanted to say hello, and give a little info on me and my project "Bad Decisions".
I am a car guy, with quite a bit of experience dealing with engine building, turbo systems, EFI, and suspension. I am looking to increase my knowledge on domestics, and get back to working on older chevy's. So far as I can tell, this is a great site with fantastic real world information. Picked up my 76 two weeks ago when I returned from being stationed in Japan. Long story short, I ended up driving it down from WA to Southern California. It was an eventful trip that allowed me to find out what all needs replaced. Overall condition is decent to rough, but has plenty of potential. Has a 350 swapped in it as well as the turbo 350 tranny and 12 bolt rear end (open). Very minimal rust, but previous owner was into front yard auto painting, and 7th grade metal shop fabrication skills. Plan's for now include factory 1/2 ton rear leaf springs install (7 leaf driver, 8 leaf passanger currently installed). (in process) Front sway bar install. (completed) Full electrical replacement / resto (in process) Full bushing kit 2.5 drop spindles front (coil spring replacement to adjust for neutral rake) flip kit rear New hood repair sheetmetal, fix rust flush mount aftermarket gauges. Engine refresh full exhaust (quiet) about a million little things to keep me busy Pictures will be up soon. |
