transmission questions

ok fella's
here is a few questions for you ...that I should've asked a while back ...but now for some reason are not clear in my head lol..
anyhow, ive been thinking of dropping in a 5 speed in my ol bucket ...so I can have overdrive while on the freeway and what not.
now heres where it begins ...I happened to score a 5 speed out of a 88-91 chevy v8 truck... for some reason I could've swore I read somewhere , sometime that these trans will bolt right and go right in. but for some reason im thinking I might be wrong here so my questions are, will this thing bolt right to my motor which is a 75-78 chevy 350? will I be able to use the manual clutch out of my 4 speed, that currently resides in my ride? will my drive shaft have to be cut down and rebalanced? any other modifications I should be aware of before going at it?
any suggestions or help will be greatly apreciated
