Problems gluing rear view mirror to windshield

Tried moving the stock mirror down, got the glue for it. Says that its a permanent bond, if you do it wrong, do not remove, glue a new one over top, like its some powerful stuff.

read direction, followed, waited 30 mins, put mirror back on, it fell off windshield, started all over, let it sit 24hrs through a nice warm day, put mirror back on, it fell off, 3rd time I have glued the metal bit on, did it yesterday, gonna wait a week?

one guy I talked to who had this problem said this

"They said the glass had become contaminated and
would never hold a mirror again." when he failed to glue one on and a glass comapny failed.

how does that happen? not like its pouris???

maybe a light scuffin?????
