Swapping from 4spd to TH350 issue - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I'm making the swap in my 69 K20 from the manual trans and Rockwell to a TH350 with NP205 that I got from a 72. I have the automatic crossmember from the 72 but the trans mount is 2 1/4 inches off from the bracket. Has anyone done this swap? I would guess that the easiest solution is to drill the holes for the bracket into the frame. Am I right or am I missing something? Name: image.jpg
