Power disc brake upgrade

I have a question for those of you that made the leap and did the power front disc brake set up on your 55-59's. How does it stop and how does the pressure on the pedal feel?
I've already done the swap and have put almost 100 miles on the truck, but it feels like my 72 C/10 did with manual front disc brakes. It stops really nice but you still need to apply quite a bit of pressure to the pedal.
Is it supposed to have that much resistance? I was under the assumption that the pedal would be a bit touchy like modern power disc brake set ups.
