The '79s back under the knife!
New motor this time! Out with the old, in with a fresh 355. I sold the old motor as a running unit, so I'm starting from scratch! Many things needed to be improved upon since the first build, so I'm pretty excited to get it torn apart. I'm open to suggestions on anything, so let me know what you think. So far I've decided on my carb and intake combo, I'm doing the exhaust over again, (got tired of the dump pipes and leaky collectors) and im going with sort of a circle track look for the motor. I've ordered up these parts so far:
-Quickfuel Black Diamond 600cfm carb -Weiand Street Warior intake -Cherry Bomb 3 inch exhaust kit -Summit distributor and 8mm wires -Cheapo circle track valve covers and breathers -AEM Air/fuel gauge (i'll do another write up on this later) -Vac and volt gauge to match the rest of mine As far as the motor goes, its nothing too special (yet) I didnt build this one, i got it from my uncle for a screamin deal. I know that it used to be in my cousin's street stock, but has been tamed down a bunch since then. As far as I know, it's got: 882 heads, Its an 010 block, mild cam, gear drive, ARP head bolt kit, and ARP complete engine bolt set. Ill know the rest when i get it torn apart. Everything in it is brand new, its just been sitting for years... Ill keep everything updated as the project goes on. Parts are on their way and Im hoping to get her back on the road in a few weeks. Feel free to pipe in if you've got any suggestions, questions or concerns. I want to do everything right this time!
