Practical Joke - Will It Work?

My buddy and I are both motorheads that like old trucks. We like to mess with each others vehicles. We never hurt them, we just make it a nuisance for each other.

His truck has an Eaton HO52. Could I pull the axle shafts, drop the drive line, and flip the whole carrier over? the bolt pattern is symmetrical.

Would this work? Or is there something in the housing that wouldn't let me do this?

I would finally be able to one-up him(he always seems to be the better thinker).

I would, of course, refill it with oil.
