Just a story about a man and his truck
Well, it all started when I was 14, when my uncle tony bought a 63 big window short fleet truck.he got it from the orig owner.the orig paint and interior.ever since then I have always loved this body style.i also remember while I was living in delhi, I would see a 60 - 66 long bed roling around delhi and Turlock.it was red metal flake, white top, chromies and fat whites.it sat with a pretty good rake.fast forward 2008, my dad gave me is 63 big window short stepside.it wasn't perfect, but it was fast and fun.we had a warmed over 355, world product heads, headers, connected to a tci street strip th350 trans running thru 4:11 gears.didnt even have it for a year when a punk kid slammed into the driverside of it while running a stop sign.insurance totaled it, I was able to buy it back for $200.i started gathering parts to rebuild but ran out of steam.ended up buying my 65 out of fresno for $1000 and drove it home to Bakersfield without a hickup.it was missing a few parts that I just took from my 63 then sold the 63 with an extra chassis and cab for $800.so, with some fresh parts, tune up, lowering job, a bath and now a camper shell, my kids and wife have a happy man and a fun daily driver.enjoy the pics. Jimmy
