Ls Swap Questions

Well I got a 2006 6.0 ss motor with transmission that I'm planning to get in my 84 c10 sometime next year. The transmission is an awd and my truck is a 2wd. I want to say its a 4l65e. I wanted to see if I could still use this transmission or do I need to purchase another one. Also should I drain all fluids out of the motor. Cause I dont want it to go bad on me. What headers are recommended for these swaps. The motor didnt come with the manifolds and somewhere I read that theres a clearance issue with manifolds. Thanks in advance for reading and will appreciate any info.
