A rare find? 1ton 1961 Chevrolet Apache C30 Longbed Stepside
Hello, My name is Jay from south Florida. I'm new to the site and new to the whole classic truck community. I recently purchased this 4 speed 1961 Chevy Apache c30 stepside longbed. I posted it on The H.A.M.P and was quickly redirected here. I was told I could find info and advice about this truck and possible help with decoding my vin number. 1C364B116824
I was told it was rare and I kind of discovered that on my own by the little info out there about a longbed c30 steside from 61'. I've tried to find another one but the closest was a 60' by a member of this site. Not sure if that's a good thing or not but I like it so rare or not it's to me it's worthy of existence. About the truck' Runs and drives good. Need new windshield which is on it's way from Rockauto. Headlights not working nor rear tail lights. Can't find a bench seat. Found guy online who has it wants $100 plus $130 shipping online. Hoping to find it local cheap. Question: Will a newer model bench work? Like a 90 something? Body needs a little welding but nothing outrages. Biggest issue is about a 6" hole on the driver floor. I know a bit of welding so away with that. The Plan? To bring it back to it's original glory. Chevy Orange and white, No fancy mods. As original as possibly. Except for current wheels which will be plastic dipped white with possible white walls. I'd like to see it with wood railings also. I'll do my best to document the progress for you guys and for record. Thanks for looking and enjoy the pics. |
