1 Barrel Carb Issues....

I have a leak (from both sides) in the throttle shaft bearing and there is nowhere here in town that can fix it. So my choices are to buy another 1 barrel carb or possible upgrade to a 2 (or4) barrel card. I have a stock 235 motor with a 4 on the floor. If I upgrade to a 2 barrel, do I need an adapter or do I need to replace the manifold? I am assuming that upgrading to a 4 barrel it it is a given. Let me know what you guys think.....thanks!
