Lowering Question

I am getting ready to lower my 51 3100. In the process of changing out the rear differential fluid I discovered that the previous owner most likely changed out the rear end and put in a rear end from a 58.

Was considering using 3" blocks in the back that I can order from chevyofthe40s.com for a 51 but I am concerned that they will not work on the 58 rear end.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions on the blocks or other ways?

Thanks

Andy
