Thinking on going HEI but can I

I was told that there was a way, to keep my original distributor and still use Non-points?
I am new to the whole idea and I think it'd be a lot better for my truck because of the constant issues I am running unto
Engine info
I6 270

What is the best out there?
What do I need to look out for?

Because my original Distributor is loose feeling I can wobble it and pick it up a hair?, BUT it won't let me adjust the clamp.

I've made great progress on this truck so far
