my 70 blazer project.
Hey guys, new to this site, here is my slightly rusty project!
Had been looking for awhile to find a 69-72 k5 project. I ended up finding one in the middle of winter 8 hours away. The listing said that the body work was pretty much complete and rust had been taken care of (truck was in primer). Just from looking at the pictures I knew it was going to be a complete redo, but that was fine as I didnt plan to keep it stock. Had reg and the price was decent. So 1/2 way there hit a snow storm, was a crazy trip both ways with extreme snow fall and ice roads. made it down and the truck was pretty rough, but wasn't going all the way home with out it!!! Finally had some time to get started on it! Hauled it out of storage and over to my house once the snow melted Then the fun stuff, The trucks 1/4's were pretty bad, rockers even worse, floor was replaced right on top of the old rusted floor. The body bolts had washers welded on the heads, then welded to the floor boards to hold it together. The rockers have definitively been cut off/patched a few times. Nothing was even welded back on properly, Was pretty crazy. So with a hacked truck, decided to plasma it up and start from scratch. at least the frame looks good lol. |
