47-53 chevy chassis

So I have been searching and searching, complete chassis online 9000+ plus wheels and tires... I feel there is a lot of room for error with measurements and all.Ive seen rear 4 link kits for around 3000. includes the 4 link, 2x4 steel, rear end and coil overs. So I was thinking, if the original frame is good, I can buy a rear 4 link kit, front IFS wheels and tires and that would be a little cheaper. I would have to box the frame of course. Now the question, with all the cutting and welding does that compromise the chassis or am i better off getting brand new steel and fabricating all new chassis? O and funny I used "I" because I wasn't blessed with the knowledge of knowing how to use a tape measure. I would have to find someone to do the work. Thanks guys
