65 starting point ideas

So I have been trying to decide which way to go to start building my sons truck. I have never taken on a project this big before and restoration wise. When starting from the ground up what are some of the things you guys who take on bigger restoration projects do first? I am thinking start toward the rear and work forward as things tend to get more expensive toward the front lol i.e. cab repair, motor/transmission swap, suspension, and so forth I am feeling tackle the bed first but I am looking for a decent direction to start. I dont want to double work myself. Thanks for the opinions and advice.
