1958 Chevy apache

Help can't get this apache running. 235. 3speed manual trans. Turns over has spark! new plugs new points rotor cap wire coil. Rebuilt carb new fuel pump proper firing order did top dead center compression stroke dead on! Makes no effffort to start even with starting fluid even jumped coil from battery. Ballast resister power both sides in and out one thing coil lights up ontest light with key off key on coil not hot what's up. Any help appreciated ken
