Re: 57 Chevy hub centric or lug centric
Still doing some research on affordable 6x139 rim options. I have found a thread here that says the C/K20 guys run rims with larger centerbore ID's no problem.
IF this is true I would like to know if they have bad vibrations? Also if this is true then running a wheel adapter that is larger than the 3.5" center bore would open up a world of rim choices other than 6x139. My problem is the damn centerbore on our trucks is 3.5" (88.9mm) with 4 wheel drums. Most rim center bores are too small the rest are too large. I am also looking into hub centric rings but don't see any for our 3.5" ID. Again maybe the rim ID is not critical as long as it fits over the hub? Another route is to have the smaller center bore alloy rim machined out to fit the hub. Has anyone done this with any luck? I am sure others have researched this, please let me know if you have found any good alternatives. Thanks. |
