New guy intro

Hello all, just wanted to introduce myself and post a few pics. I did a brief intro in the welcome area but we all know not many go in there. I'll let you guess my name, should be pretty obvious.

I had been looking for a different truck for a long time to replace my '87 F150. Always been a GM guy but I got the Ford from my cousin and it worked so well I kept it. I got tired of it though after almost 8 years so I began to search Craigslist. After looking for about a year I finally found something I liked, this '83 GMC Sierra.

It's practically rust free and almost completely original, even has the stock radio. Someone put a Holley intake and Edelbrock carb on it, and it's missing the cruise control stuff. The 700R4 wasn't shifting properly but it came with another in the bed, which I installed and it doesn't work either. Oh well, I only paid $846 for the truck. Well, the wife liked the truck so much she claimed it as hers, so there went my new work truck.

So I had the F150 on Craigslist for sale or trade for a GM with a 4.3 or smallblock, so I could borrow the transmission for the truck. Got a text from a guy that said he had an '87 V10. I thought it was a typo, thought it was either an S10 or C10. Didn't know they were called V10s after '86. So I traded.

So this one is mine. Rusty in weird places, weird to me anyways this is Florida. Must have been a northern truck. But I'm a fuel injection guy and I got one. Both have 305s, mine has the TH400. Perfect for pulling my trailer. Probably do a project thread for both, although mine needs the most work.

Looking forward to getting to know you guys. Thanks for looking.
