Tachometer install in '62 235?
Hi guys, I have a very basic understanding of how a tachometer is typically installed - somewhere on the ignition coil? But I've also been reading what I think is that only '63 and up can run as-is but '62 and below will need a separate sending unit?
I have a Stewart-Warner tach (just like this one on ebay) that I picked up from a local salvage yard. Has 4 wires, which I assume are for: ignition switch power, dash light, ground, and ignition coil (or wherever it hooks up to the engine). Would really appreciate some guidance for how to install this: where does the wire (that goes under the hood to the engine) connect on a 1962 (C20) 235 inline 6? Do I need a separate sending unit? Thanks for reading.
