Clutch Issues...
Hello all, sorry this is my first post, and not in the introduction part, but I have a problem that is stumping me. One of many trucks I have is a 1974 K20 with a 292, SM465, NP205, and so on and so forth with the heavy duty 3/4 ton stuff. Last weekend as I was driving it to my farm to trade trucks to go back to school, I noticed it was slowly getting harder to get into gear while shifting, to the point I had to actually slam it into gear. Then it got to the point I had to start the truck in gear to move it. I made a longer rod for the clutch release lever, and put it in tonight. Even with the longer rod, it didn't make a difference. The clutch will not disengage at all. The only way to start the truck without it moving is to have it in neutral. And then I can't get it in gear. Checked bellhousing bolts and they're all tight. Adjusted the rod a bunch of different lengths, to no avail. Seems to me to be a problem most likely with the pressure plate.. Have any of you had this happen? Or could it possibly be the clutch plate managed to get stuck to the flywheel while driving? The pedal has plenty of feel like I'm moving something, but its hard to tell whats moving and whats not.. Thanks in advance guys.
