LS Engine Wiring

Guys I could use a sanity check on my engine wiring. Wiring up an 07 LQ4 using a PSI standalone and Speedway 12 circuit harnesses.

• PSI harness connect to the same terminal as the battery on the back of the starter
• PSI harness connects to the 4-pin plug on the alternator
• PSI harness connects to the ignition switch (On) – power during on and cranking
• Body harness connects to the battery on the back of the starter via the fused link.
• Body harness provides connection between ignition switch (start) to the NSS then to the starter
• Need a wire from the lug on the back of the alternator to the battery terminal on the starter
• In the body harness the following connections are not required: alt power, alt exciter, coil, choke

Questions:
• What is alt power in the body harness used for? Isn’t the harness getting power from the battery/starter terminal?
• Using a universal ignition switch – the IGN or ON has power during on and cranking?
• In the body harness the “ignition switch ign” brown wire does what?

I think that’s it for now. Thank you in advance.
