New guy from CT

Hi All. I'm a retired GM tech with a new toy. This is my first dabble with trucks, but being a long time hot rodder, anything with wheels is fair game. I got my truck from Arizona because anything from New England is usually consumed by Mother Nature (rust!!). This guy has NO rust. In talking with the previous owner, the truck had NEVER seen snow, being from the Southwest its' entire life

The wife wasn't too pleased, as I still have an almost complete '48 Willys wagon taking up her space in the garage. Soon after the truck arrived (Dec. 2014), these things just sort of appeared

See where this is going? Currently, the truck is powered (?) by a 250 six cylinder and granny 1st gear 4 speed. When I pulled the inspection cover on the 12 bolt rear to see what gears it has, not a drop of gear lube came out! So the hunt was on to find a new rear. Found a nice 10 bolt with 3:42"s.

As soon as it warms up and the snow melts, the swap will be on. Right now, I'm gathering lots of parts, reading lots of build threads, and spending lots of money

Later...

Lee
