Re: Anyone running year correct plates?
I agree. I have at least 10 vehicles running YOM plates in MI. The application clearly states not to be used for routine transportation (I just mailed in another application yesterday). $35 one time fee and stays current as long as you own the vehicle.
Also of note, insurance companies (at least in MI) will give a much lower rate for vehicles registered as "historical". I just had them quote a yearly premium for a '78 2wd Jimmy. $474 if registered with regular plates, $70 if registered with historical plates. I can't imagine my insurance costs if it weren't for the reduced historical plate rates. Willowrun, As a fellow Michigander who runs YOM plates. My insurance Company also had a reduced rate. My agent told me that the first question out of his mouth after a claim would be "where were you going or coming from"? That was enough for me to pay a littler extra on my premium |
