Well I'm replacing the head gaskets because it does have a leaky one. And yes these are solid lifter cams which is why they suggested it being a sticky lifter, or some piece of carbon stuck between the valve.

Yeah its a possibility for sure. I'll blow air around the plugs again to make sure all the debris is gone.
