Original 86 electronic spark control wiring

Sorting through the original 86 wiring to get rid of what I no longer need. The 4 wire plug that went to the original distributor runs through the firewall and to what I believe is the electronic spark controller. It is bolted down behind the glove box. Will this box serve any purpose at all after the swap? I have seen a few people mount their LS PCM where this box is currently. There is a blue wire that went to a knock sensor, the 4 wires going to the distributor, and a heavy brown and heavy yellow wire that goes to a 2 prong connector that I do not know what it hooked up to. This heavy brown wire goes back to the spark control box, but the yellow wire jumps out of the loom and from the best I can tell runs over to the far drivers side under the dash and goes to a different 2 wire connector that has a Heavy purple wire that runs down to the fuse box. I will work on getting some photos. Should I be able to do away with all of this?
