Air Filter-Quadrajet 283
Probably a dumb post but I did honestly search and couldn't see others with this problem.
My '67 283 has a 4 barrel quadrajet and an air cleaner that fits the 4MV carb. There was a FRAM CA326 in it a 6 years ago when I bought it. I found at a swap meet a Motomaster MCA 326 which fits fine (although slightly looser)-I'm Canadian remember. I thought I would order a replacement from Rock Auto and I got a Wix 42091. The Wix doesn't fit as the ID is only 8.59" instead of 9.8 inches for the FRAM CA326. The Wix cross references to a Fram CA176. I'm thinking I have the wrong air cleaner on this 283. I know the stock was a 2-bbl with an oil bath air cleaner but I thought all quadrajet carbs had the same air filter size. Just wondered if anyone else had this issue and what part they are using. Thanks
