new rear tank leaks

My new aluminum gas tank on my truck with v8 350 mechanical fuel pump vapor locked and busted weld in seam of new tank, I think ? Or did the weld just go bad ? just put the new rear tank in and ran truck a few times and pulled back in garage and smelled gas, come to find out gas was spraying out
of seam on tank ...Took cap off tank and and it was under a lot of pressure ...
Did I get a bad tank or did I hook it up wrong ?
