Two Questions About Installing New Seat Cover

I bought it from Brothers and it's made by PUI.

I need your thoughts & input on:

1 - The instructions given on the Brothers web site(and others)say to reuse the steel rods from the old cover. But I don't see a way to reuse them on the bottom cover. I do not see an opening to slide it in and there is an excising "cord" that runs in the edges where the steel rods go. The cord doesn't seem very sturdy. However I'm inclined to think the cord is there to be used instead of the steel rods.

2- When putting the bottom cover which do you attach first with the hog rings, from or back? I started with the front & then spent 2 hours in the heat wrestling with it & got nowhere ( the seat won by TKO.) Now, it looks to me like it would better to attach it at the back first.

I've got a friend coming over tomorrow to help out. I just want to make sure I'm clear on the above two concerns.

Thanks
