Removing Dana 20 from 4 speed gearbox
Need a bit of info/assistance with this dismantle - don't want to break anything.
Have removed the several flange bolts mounting the Dana 20 to the transmission but gentle prying will not break the transfer case loose from the transmission. Am thinking there must be some additional "attachment" aspect that must be addressed. Does the Tcase not simply slide over the spline of the 4 speed gearbox - is there an interference fit between the two boxes - or does a guy need to open the transmission and remove some pin or locking ring to release the Tcase.? BTW, regarding the bracket that holds the Dana 20 4wd shifter (extends up alongside the gearbox) is it attached in any way to the gearbox? Thanks for any info/assistance.
