Towing Gas Mileage

I just got back from making a 30 hour round trip to San Francisco to pick up a car. I got to see gas prices jump 10-15 cents at gas stations I had filled up at 12 hours earlier. All this for no apparent reasons, except greed on the oil companies part.

Well anyway. Towing about 5000 lbs with my little burb I was averaging about 15 mpg on flat ground and down to about 11 in the mountains. I actually was real happy. I kept it below 65 and I think that helped a lot.
