Need a little advice and some background

Hey everyone. New to the site. I had some questions. I'm looking for a new truck (new to me). Late 60s to mid to late 70s. I found some that I liked the looks of but now confused on if they are customs or they were actually produced maybe someone could help me. Found a 68 crew cab 30 series. I saw some sites that say we are custom rebuilds and others that say they were production trucks that were designed for municipalities and forestry work. Thanks guys can't wait to hear the answers.
