Side windows have gap at top
Hello,
So I reassembled my doors today and I replaced all of the weather strip and seals. Neither window rolls up far enough now. The drivers side is probably ok but the passenger side has a bit more of a gap. It seems that my new lower horizontal fuzzy pieces (anti rattle strips?) from classic parts.com may be the problem. The window channel seems to hit the fuzzy parts before the window is up enough. I searched and others mentioned this. I sure hate to take it all apart again, but has anyone tried grinding on these strips? Are there better strips that can be bought? I also considered removing the (new) upper rubber piece on the door, that the top of the window sits in and adding something at the top to shim the rubber down a little. It seems to recess a little more than it should. If it were a little lower, the window would meet it. I hate to be negative but reproduction parts can be so disappointing. Sellers should consider the problems that they cause over and over again. Its irresponsible. Any thoughts?? |
