Pontiac 347 in a Series 2

Afternoon all...

After getting my enthusiasm back for my Project I'm getting on quite well!

BUT- some idiot designer in the fifties decided to stuff the starter and solenoid on the left side of the engine.. damn-

I have a Hydramatic box- and really want to keep it all together is I can.

My issue is I'm fitting Jaguar IFS and IRS onto the truck as it works well on my 48 Chevy Fleetline....

Anyway- the stater and particularly the solenoid is exactly where the pinion sticks out off the rack... oh dear!

I've looked around the net and can't find any mini-starters like the millions available for Chevy's!

Has anyone else hit this problem? I may be able to move the rack nearer to the cross-member, BUT I'm looking at easiest options first.

I'd appreciate any advice- thanks very much!

Rich
