Hood differences through the years

So in searching through the forum I read that in 1979, hoods got a decorative ridge across the front. What about hood latch changes? I've got a '76 with bent hood syndrome and came across a hood from a '89 Sub that looks to be in good condition. Are the latches interchangeable? Will the '76 hood springs bolt up to the '89 hood?
