What size ball/flex hone did you use for 3.78" bore? and where did you get it?
After doing some reading, I have determined that I need a 240 grit ball hone to clean up the cylinders. I was thinking the ball hone would be better than the stone hone because I am not using a torque plate to keep the cylinders true while honing. The balls would more evenly hone the cylinder wall than the stone hone.
The standard bore for a 5.3 is 3.78". Looking at the Brush Research website, there are 3.75" hones, and 4.25" hones. My assumption is that I do not want a hone that is smaller than the bore. However, I do not want to put a hone into the cylinder that is too large.
I think a 4" would probably be best, but I am having trouble finding one at a reasonable price. Which one did you use?
