Electric Fan Questions

My buddy had 2 subaru imprezas. Blew the motor in his rally car, crashed his other, so he swapped the motor out of his other one and put it in the rally car. he had 2 electric fans kickin around so i took advantage and scooped them from the useless parts bin that hed never use.

They are both 1 foot wide, would one be enough to cool or would i want both?

I was thinking run one through a temperature switch and relay and so on, so it comes on in normal driving conditions, then in the city driving have one hooked up through just a switch so i could switch on if need be.

Any input would be great, want to do this while i swap the rad support so i have the rad out already.
