C20 disc brakes swap

I have a 1970 C20 panel, a very rare bowtie, with no drivetrain (was 292/auto). A friend has an 86 C20, with aftermarket 8 lug rims, disc brakes, and a 454/TH400. Can I swap the entire crossmember, front suspension, wheels, and drive train into my panel, without too much hacking? I read one post that says it bolts right in, and another says the frame bolt holes are there, but you have to drill them out to a larger size with a stepper bit. Would the donor truck have the correct perches for that big block? I would also like to snag the tilt column from the donor truck, but I was told by a friend that it had a larger diameter tube, so I would have to hack up the dash. I appreciate any guidance here, after 30 years of owning and building Mopars, this is my first Chevy, and I don't want to screw it up. Thanks!
