Looking at her bottom
Got my 69 up on a hoist today, and had a good look. Some oil seeping out around the differential gasket area, but otherwise, quite leak free. Floors and bed all look real good, and chassis is rust and damage free.
What I did notice was the original exhaust system, a simple Y pipe, skinny pipe, a muffler sitting skinny side down, and more skinny pipe. Doesn't seem like enough breathing space for a V8. Wonder what the general opinion is on upgrading the exhaust system on these trucks. I'm thinking you need at least 2 1/4 dual pipes with an H or X pipe, and two low-restriction mufflers. I'm not interested in making lots of noise, just getting a little more performance and fuel economy.
