EFI Fuel Tank other than Boyds

I'm planning on running a 5.3L motor from a 04 Suburban in my 67 Suburban. Has anyone else used an off the shelf fuel tank and sending unit? I just read that someone used a gas tank from a 90 Wrangler and sending unit from a 87 GMC pickup in a 70 Chevy pickup. Just wondering if anyone has done the same with a Suburban.

I know most people go with the Boyds tanks. They look REALLY nice but they want $1000 for the tank with sending unit that I'm looking at for my Suburban. That is just out of my price range right now.

Thanks,
Nick
