'69-'72 Chevy p10 Step Van to take to ... Australia

Hi Everybody,

Will try again. I posted a link to an ebay auction that had ended, which apparently is a no no and the thread was closed. Apologies to the mods

I am currently looking for a '69 to '72 Chevy Shorty p10 Step Van to buy and take back to Australia.

Kinda crazy but anyway that's what im doing.

The '69 to '72 shorty is the one i decided i like the best, it has the boxed in headlights and grill i like.

Given the age of these trucks I don't need to have it converted to RHD when I bring it out to Australia.

Ideally I am looking for one with the lower roof and no serving windows cut in the side panels and the shortest they made them.

I am looking to buy it and then will probably send it to Conrad at Misfits Ice Cream Customs in Arizona to get it worked on to look like one of these:

I would be looking to replicate something like these, similar paint and interiors, I like the stance of these two with the whitewall tyres and red rims. The Van would be used as a promotional vehicle and sometimes delivery van. Given that when I bring it out here I doubt that any Mechanics out here will have seen anything like it I suspect I will need a fair bit of work done on it.

Although I did find a c10 enthusiasts website here in Australia, which underneath are pretty similar to the p10.... I think I read that.... could be completely wrong.

I have seen some of the great builds on the site with similar P10's. Would love any tips anyone was willing to share.

Apart from body work, paint and interiors I think I would make it automatic, put in Power Steering, Bigger Radiator and anything else you recommended to make the vehicle as easy to drive and maintain over here in Australia??

Cheers

In relation to some of the comments on the old thread before it was closed.

I really like the Chevy p10 over the Grumman, I did entertain a Jeep F3, as this is already RHD, but the p10 won out.

I did see the blue p10 on craigslist, but i prefer the lower roof, although the mosaic dash is appealing!

Yes I had read that the aluminium body is preferable over the steel.

Thanks for the comments and I'll try again.
